Mango Pineapple Smoothie

It’s summertime and like I say, there’s nothing more delicious than a nice fresh fruity smoothie to enjoy. The sun is shining and the temperature is soaring hot at 35 Celsius, sitting outside in my backyard patio, swinging  away on my grande swing enjoying this absolutely delicious soothing and refreshing cold glass of Mango Pineapple Smoothie. What more do you? Life is great ! 🙂

I like to believe that during summertime we should take full advantage of all the nice fresh fruits that are available to us and in season. This refreshing “Mango Pineapple Smoothie” was made with fresh in season Indian Mangoes called “Badami”  also known as “Baiganpally Mango” these mangoes are grown in the southern states on India like Karnataka. These mangoes are large in size and when naturally ripened they’re absolutely sweet and tasty.

Pineapples also known as “ananas” is another fruit that originated from India also, but now is widely grown in South & Central America right to the West Indies. It’s considered a tropical fruit, that is grown year after year and is a drought-tolerant plant. Pineapples are widely grown during the months of March to June. The similarity of the two fruits used in this smoothie is that their both around widely during the months of March to June.

The best part of this revitalizing and refreshing smoothie is that it only takes three ingredients. Mangoes, Pineapples and lots of ice or cold water all blended into smooth smoothie and ready in seconds.  Really ! that’s it  no mess, no hard work and you have a great delicious smoothie ready to enjoy.

Fresh fruits are always the best, but no worries if that’s not available then us frozen works the same and taste the same. For this particular recipe I also cheated I had the fresh sweet over ripen Badami Mangoes, but ran out of the pineapple, so I used frozen Pineapple Chucks (sorry) 🙂

Mango Pineapple Smoothie

A refreshing & revitalizing delicious Mango Pineapple Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 - Large Badami Mangoes; Peeled and cut into large chucks
  • 2 cups - Pineapple Chucks (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup - Ice
  • 1 cup - Cold water

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a blender; blend till a nice smooth consistency has been reached.
  • Pour into desired glass, top with a few smaller cut chucks of pineapple and mango.
  • Enjoy
