So…..this year has brought me and my husband a lot of change and we have also started to change the way we eat and drink. It all started off by watching an educational video on smoothies and the benefits of it and that was it we were hooked! We used to us our Magic Bullet Juice extractor machine and make enough juice for the week and drink that….but honestly after a day or two the juice didn’t taste the greatest. So we stopped !
Well….after discovering Smoothies….and realizing how delicious and healthy they are we have not looked back. I research different ways of making delicious, healthy smoothies and experimented with different fruits and vegetables and added flax seeds, protein powder, almonds and almond milk all of these things are a great source of nutrient to the body.
I’m not following no green detox diet or trying to lose weigh, but I just want to live a healthy lifestyle. Some of these smoothies may not taste the greatest but the nutritious factor in the smoothie makes it worth drinking. After drinking smoothies combined with different fruits and vegetables I have realized a big differences in my skin, hair, nails and my overall energy level.
Here’s a super simple berry mix smoothie that’s worth making. “Berries” are full of antioxidants so this helps the body fight oxidative stress. Eating or drinking a rich antioxidant diet helps improve your health, it protects your hair and skin and prevents certain diseases. In addition to antioxidants, berries are “juicy foods,” which means they contain mostly water. Berries are a juicy foods which are great for losing weight because they fill you up quickly, since their high water content bumps up the volume while driving down the calories.
Another major super food that I’ve included in this smoothie is the “Avocado” This has become the super “incredible” popular food amongst the health conscious people. Avocados come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. They also have many different names ….like “Hass Avocado” or “Alligator Pear”. The yellow-green flesh inside the fruit is eaten, but the skin and seed are discarded. Avocados are very nutritious and contain a wide variety of nutrients, including 20 different vitamins and minerals.
